Sustainable
Pieces
Hotels: There is a new green group in
the hotel industry—the National Sustainable Lodging Network, according to an article on GreenBiz.com.
How
to make it “everyone’s job:” According to GreenBiz.com, a Canadian-owned insurance
provider “has figured out a systems approach to embedding sustainability into
everyone's job.”
JLL’s
take on “corporate transformation via sustainability:” In a blog post, Dan
Probst of the energy and sustainability services arm of real estate giant Jones
Lang Lasalle, writes, “Becoming a sustainable company is more than just recycling and reducing
energy, though. To achieve breakthrough performance, companies must create
a collaborative process that involves key internal stakeholders from HR and IT
to business units, as well as suppliers and customers.”
Small
companies are working on it: Three accounting institutes from Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. found that “23%
of smaller companies have plans to formulate a strategy in the next two years,
and 33% have a sustainability strategy in place already,” according to EnvironmentalLeader.com.
Sustainability
Awards: The
