Demand response to boom: Pike Research claimed
in a news
release that demand response, analyzed to be a market in 2011 of less than
$1.3 billion, will grow to more than $6.1 billion by 2016.

utilities and the results generated a report and the table

Energy management, industrial: EnvironmentalLeader.com’s
report on Energy Management Systems for Industrial Markets (from
Pike Research) noted predicted growth from $960 million in 2011 to more than $5.5
billion in 2020.

Five emerging grid storage companies: Lux
Reseach, which follows the grid storage technology market, put NGK Insulators
on top of the
list of emerging grid storage technology companies. NGK Insulators was far
above No. 2 Xtreme Power. Ranked 3-5 were Beacon Power, International Battery,
and A123 Systems.
In October, Beacon Power filed for protection under the
federal bankruptcy statutes, according to The
Boston Globe. While a Forbes.com blog asks, “Can

Q3/11 sets clean energy project investment record: That’s what Bloomberg New Energy Finance said, tallying $41.8 billion in “asset
finance of utility-scale renewable energy projects,” according
to CleanEdge.
